In a meeting with MMA OddsBreaker’s James Lynch, UFC welterweight Bojan Velickovic revealed that his training partner, former RFA welterweight champion Brandon”Ruckus” Thatch was booked to take on Brazil’s Erick Silva. There is no official date and place for its fight booking, along with the bout hasn’t been formally declared, however, Velickovic did say it is in September, so one would suppose that may be September 24th’s UFC Fight Night 95 at Silva’s backyard of Brasilia, Brazil. The two 170-pounders have their backs against the wall going into this competition, as Thatch is coming off three consecutive losses, being completed by rear naked choke submission in all three of these , and Silva is coming off a pair of defeats himself, most recently a vicious knockout at the hands of Nordine Taleb. This is a small surprise match-up, as many figured there was a decent possibility both welterweights are getting their walking papers from the advertising following their most recent excursions inside the Octagon. The UFC has yet decided that one of these must stick about, and in a marketing where some fighters become cut after only 1 reduction, these welterweights are lucky. The two Thatch and Silva have appeared to be about a decrease in recent bouts, so it’s going to be intriguing to see how they will appear against each other when they square off this September. One fighter’s UFC narrative will last, while the one who tastes defeat will probably be inching closer to a Bellator contract, even when it would probably serve him better to hang up the gloves for good. Silva trains from Kings MMA in Huntington Beach. Thatch and Velickovic struggle from Evolution Fight Team at Denver, CO.. Velickovic confronted former American Top Team training spouse Michael Graves in the featured bout for the UFC Fight Pass prelims for UFC 201 final evening with his bout causing a vast majority draw.
